DOI agrees maximum time for vehicles to be left unattended in taxi ranks
Taxi drivers on the Isle of Man aren't allowed to leave their vehicles unattended in a taxi rank for more than 40 minutes anymore.
Drivers must now put a parking disc in the windscreen with a note next to it stating they're on a comfort break.
The Road Transport Licensing Committee says it's after the Department of Infrastructure raised the issue of taxis being left unattended for long periods of time.
While drivers are entitled to comfort breaks, a maximum time limit has been agreed between the DOI and the taxi branch of Isle of Man Unite.
