Patient transfer service loses contract again
A Liverpool taxi firm which provided hospital transfers for Manx patients says it's 'disappointed' to have its ties with government cut.
Bridgewater Transfers has carried out the specialist taxi journeys for a number of years, under an agreement with the Department of Health and Social Care.
But after a tender process last year, the company says it's now been informed, via email, that the contract has been lost.
It echoes a similar decision by the DHSC in 2010 ago, which was quickly reversed after a public outcry.
An online petition to Tynwald members has now been launched - and garnered more than a thousand signatures.
