Cash boost for Southern Swimming Pool as it awaits report
Forty thousand pounds of taxpayers' money will be used to ease the 'financial pressures' of running a swimming pool in the south of the Island.
The extra money, from the Department of Education, Sport and Culture, will be transferred to the Southern Swimming Pool in Castletown.
It's on top of the yearly subvention from the department, and cash from the local authority, which assists with running costs.
A structural civil engineering report is due to be carried out to determine the pool's condition and ascertain if there are any health and safety concerns.
