NASUWT opens ballot for industrial action
Teachers on the Isle of Man are being asked if they're willing to strike after a union described a pay offer from government as 'unacceptable'.
The NASUWT – The Teachers Union has started balloting its 600 members on possible industrial action over pay, workload and working practices.
Government had offered a two per cent pay increase - the union claims it’s sought at every turn to negotiate with ministers but without success.

The ballot will remain open until 4 April.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture says whilst it's disappointed it would be inappropriate to comment further until the outcome of the ballot is known.
DESC says it maintains an open door policy to all teaching unions and actively engages with them on issues that affect them on Island.
