Follows alleged incident near bus stop
A teenager who's alleged to have attacked strangers with a hammer has been remanded into secure accommodation.
The boy, who can't be identified because of his age, appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
He's charged with possessing an offensive weapon, attempted malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and aggravated assault.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing three friends were waiting at a bus stop, on Main Road in Ballabeg, at around 10.40pm on 30 May.
The court heard the group were engaged in verbal banter with the boy who was in a garden nearby.
He approached the group, carrying a hammer, before attacking two men - hitting one in the head and one on the hand.
Mrs Hughes heard the incident had been filmed by one of the men on a mobile phone.
She refused bail and remanded the boy in custody to appear again on 9 June.
