18-year-old was over the drink drive limit
A Douglas teenager has been fined £1,600 after crashing her dad's car following an argument with her boyfriend.
Eighteen-year-old Amelia Jasmine Brockbanks, of Meadow View, admitted drink driving and having no insurance at Douglas Courthouse.
The court heard Brockbanks had been celebrating a friend’s birthday, in Douglas on 20 March, and had drank prosecco, rum and shots in the British, Barbary Coast and 1886.
But after a row with her partner, when she got home, she got behind the wheel of her father's Audi – crashing it at the Braaid, and flipping it onto its side, shortly after 1am.
At Police Headquarters she turned out to be more than twice the legal limit.
Brockbanks was also banned from the roads for 30 months and ordered to pay £125 towards prosecution costs.
