Laxey man allegedly attacked woman and broke her iPhone
A court’s heard a teenager allegedly assaulted his girlfriend after he suspected she was cheating on him.
Nineteen-year-old Finlay McGregor of Shore Road in Laxey appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.
He pleaded not guilty to assaulting a woman, causing actual bodily harm to her and destroying property.
The hearing was told Mr McGregor had attacked his partner between July and September when he suspected she was having a relationship with somebody else.
Mrs Hughes heard on 6 December he became enraged when a friend told him his girlfriend had been seeing someone else.
He’s said to have pinned her to the bed, slapping her around the face as she begged him to stop.
Mr McGregor is also alleged to have smashed an iPhone belonging to the woman, who has cystic fibrosis.
He was bailed in the sum of £500, and is next due to appear in court on 16 February for a pre-trial review hearing.
