Sold cannabis to friends, court hears
An Island teenager was supplying drugs to his friends for around eight months, a court has heard.
Eighteen-year-old Louis Alex Kemau Warren, of Beaumont Road, appeared at Douglas courthouse facing a series of drugs charges yesterday (Nov 8).
He pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis bush with intent to supply, possession of cannabis resin and being unlawfully concerned in the supply of cannabis bush.
He also admitted one count of driving without due care and attention.
'It's only a crumb' - that's what Warren told officers as they found just over £3 of cannabis resin when searching his Ramsey home back in August.
It was later found he had further quantities of cannabis bush with a street value of almost £520 and various items of drug paraphernalia.
The court heard he was doing one to two deals per day from January until August this year, when he was caught.
When sentencing, Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said 'a clear message had to go out to those who supply controlled drugs' on the Island.
He was sentenced to to a total of 16 weeks in prison for the drugs offences.
Warren was also disqualified from driving for six months for an offence on the Mountain Road in September 2015.
