St Thomas' Walk also shut to all traffic
Temporary two-way lights are to be in operation in Market Street from today until Friday (28 February).
The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed the length of St Thomas Walk is also shut to vehicles.
It's to allow for emergency mains power repairs by Manx Utilities.
Pedestrian and emergency access will also not be maintained throughout the period of the closure.
Manx Utilities has confirmed on social media its engineers are in attendance.
It says: "Our engineers are in attendance at an electricity fault affecting properties in the area between Chester Street and the Villa Marina, Douglas.
"Works are ongoing to restore supply as soon as possible."
