DoI says Douglas building's roof is now weather-tight
Progress is being made to address essential work required at Tramway Terrace to protect the building prior to full renovation work starting on the site in the spring.
The Department of Infrastructure has told Manx Radio structural improvements have been carried out and the roof is now weather-tight.
A design team has been appointed following a procurement process and is in the process of exploring the most appropriate way to address what the department says is a 'complex project'.
The terrace, which is a registered building, had been destined for demolition following an independent structural report last year; however, a subsequent survey from an accredited structural engineer concluded the building was repairable.
