Douglas supermarket blames 'adverse weather'
The sale of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers is being limited at Tesco.
It’s due to shortages caused by adverse weather conditions in Europe and Africa.
The Douglas supermarket says the items have gone ‘out of stock’ and adds it’s ‘working hard to refill our shelves’.
Customers are being told they can only buy three items at a time ‘so that everyone can get what they need’.
According to the British Retail Consortium the United Kingdom imports around 95 per cent of its tomatoes and 90 per cent of its peppers.
