As we heard earlier in the week, at least 11 climbers have died trying to scale K2, the world's second highest mountain.
It's one of the worst incidents in the history of climbing, and certainly the worst disaster on K2 in 20 years. According to Phil Drowley, the first Manxman to scale Everest a couple of months ago, climbers only have a 50/50 chance of surviving the climb - hardly attractive odds for what is - after all - a sport.
So what makes people want to take part in such risky activities? Phil Drowley (pictured) says it's often to do with the element of danger itself:
