Manx language festival starts today
'The Cooish'* Manx language festival kicks off tonight with a traditional folk music concert at the Masonic Hall in Peel.
A reimagined events programme, supported by Yn Chruinnaght and Culture Vannin, also includes a series of workshops at Culture Vannin's Headquarters in St John's on tomorrow.
Manx Gaelic is classed as a 'critically endangered' language, but is arguably in a healthier state now than it has been for almost a hundred years.
Culture Vannin's Language Development Officer, Adrian Cain, thinks events like 'The Cooish' are a big help in reviving the Manx language:
