The application seeks permission for an LED advertising board
A large digital advertising screen could be installed near the roundabout serving the airport after planning officers recommended the application for approval.
The application, submitted by Tim Groves, seeks permission for a freestanding large-format LED display.
According to a planning report, the structure would stand approximately 7.23 metres tall, with the screen measuring about 5.1 metres wide and 2.64 metres high, mounted within a curved supporting frame referred to as "The Wing".
A planning office has recommended approval, concluding the proposal would not cause unacceptable harm to visual amenity, highway safety or airport operations.
Conditions proposed include no moving images or special effects, a minimum 10-second interval between display changes, automatic brightness adjustment, and the screen defaulting to a blank black screen in the event of a malfunction.
The display would also be turned off between 2am and 6am on Saturdays and Sundays and between midnight and 6am on other days.
Malew Commissioners raised no objection, while Highways Services did not object subject to conditions.
Two public objections were received, citing visual appearance and driver distraction.
The Planning Committee sits on Monday where a decision is due to be made.
