MHK Chris Thomas defends decision on original Petition for Redress
West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas has defended his scrapping of plans to establish a Select Committee on the conservation of historic buildings.
The motion was originally put before Tynwald in a Petition for Redress by Charles Guard.
The Committee was to explore the government's reluctance to form a strategy for conservation management and listing.
But Mr Thomas removed the Petition from this week's Tynwald sitting, stating his new Building Conservation Network could do the job more efficiently.
He explained why the network was a better alternative.
