Family launch JustGiving page over weekend
A fundraising page set up to help Steve Mercer's recovery has reached over £6,000.
The popular rider from Kent was seriously injured in an accident with a course car during practice for this year's TT.
He suffered injuries to his pelvis, leg, ankle, heel, back, neck and voice box and there have since been complications with brain injury.
He was flown to hospital in Liverpool, where his condition is still described as serious but stable.
According to the Kent online website, his family set up the crowd-funding page over the weekend with the aim of raising £5,000.
Earlier this morning (Mon 10am) the total was almost £6,900.
