There’s a new appeal for people to sign up for a world record attempt after a rival to the Island’s bid emerged.
Spearheaded by staff from Barclays on the Island, Douglas Promenade will see an attempt at the world’s largest three-legged race on May 6.
The record’s currently held by a Japanese school – and a rival attempt by a school in Scotland has now been announced.
Organisers of the Manx race say they’re hopeful the competition will spur people to sign up.
Sixth-formers at Perth Academy in Scotland say they’re hoping to raise more than a thousand pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support by beating the current record of 502 pairs.
Their big race takes place tomorrow – meaning the Isle of Man will still have the chance to beat their record should they succeed.
All of the money raised when the Manx prove they’re the best on three legs will go to the Childrens’ Centre.
