Mayor's fund raising event for charities
The rarefied surroundings of Douglas council chamber will be open to the public this afternoon (24 July).
The mayor and mayoress are hosting a traditional afternoon tea to raise funds for three Island charities.
Their charity appeal this year is benefiting Anthony Nolan Isle of Man, Naseem’s Manx Brain Tumour Trust and Manx Decaf, which supports those living with Alzheimer’s disease.
The event starts at 2.30pm and you can book a place by calling 487487 or 499521.
Mayoress Gill Skinner says there’ll be some other treats, including music from the string quartet 4Tissimo:

Amber weather warning issued as strong winds and coastal conditions expected overnight
Hospice funding criticised by UK charity chief amid Isle of Man service cuts
Sailings cancelled as storm brings gale-force winds
Manx Mountain Marathon route diverted over safety concerns amid forecast strong winds
