Tony Brown believes introducing licensing for new media outlets would be beneficial
The Isle of Man would benefit from introducing licensing for online news sources.
That's from former chief minister Tony Brown following the recent dispute between the Isle of Man Government and Isle of Man TV, which publishes its content on YouTube.
While broadcasters and newspapers are subject to regulation, such rules don't apply to digital outlets such as websites and social media pages.
Mr Brown would like to see some formal licensing brought in but says it needs to be proportionate:
