Storm Éowyn to bring violent storm force winds tomorrow
The time period during which the Island is set to experience the worst of the bad weather associated with Storm Éowyn is a 'big factor' behind the decision to issue a rare red weather warning.
That's according to Ronaldsway Met Office.
The warning, for violent storm force winds, is in effect from 7am until 2pm tomorrow (24 January) covering what would typically be the morning rush hour.
Gusts of up to 85 mph are forecast, particularly in exposed coastal areas and on higher ground, likely resulting in widespread disruption and damage.

A red warning signifies extreme conditions, with a high likelihood of widespread damage, travel disruption, power and communication outages, and even a risk to life.
