Douglas Council has given up attempting to arrange a presentation ceremony to formally confer the freedom of the borough on cycling superstar Mark Cavendish.
After well over two years of talking to agents to try and agree a mutually convenient date, it's been decided to hang the specially commissioned illuminated address in the town hall, and wait for Cav to get in touch.
