Ramsey Commissioner Juan McGuinness says it would also impact town's services

A Ramsey Commissioner says proposals made in the government's waste management strategy could have 'major changes' that would significantly affect waste services in the town.

Juan McGuinness believes it's 'too early' to predict if the cost would be cheaper if the service was centralised.

The aim of the consultation is to 'develop' a strategy which is 'reliable, economical and environmentally acceptable' for the benefit of residents.

Mr McGuinness says the issues at the Northern Civic Amenity Site could also be solved by centralisation:

The Department of Infrastructure has been contacted for comment.
