Government's CEO to leave his office for the last time on 31 March
A Douglas Central MHK says the shock resignation of the Isle of Man Government’s Chief Executive Officer is yet “another knock” to the civil service.
Chris Thomas believes now is the time to reconsider how the Island recruits its most senior civil servants.
In a statement, Andy Ralphs said “it has not been an easy decision to reach” but explained he needs time out following the bereavement of a close family member.
Mr Thomas was asked how long the government likely knew this change was coming:
Mark Lewin, Chief Officer of the Department for Enterprise, will take on the role on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is appointed.
