Ashford believes modern technology means living on Island shouldn't be a requirement
A Douglas North MHK says he doesn’t believe people working in top government jobs should have to relocate to the Isle of Man.
Former minister David Ashford made the comments on the Mannin Line today.
He was quizzed about whether it was detrimental that the former health and social care chief executive wasn’t based on Island.
It's still unclear whether the newly appointed interim director of public health will be relocating to the Isle of Man.
Mr Ashford said he doesn’t believe remote working negatively impacts on day-to-day duties:
