The Isle of Man's largest high school has won a prestigious accolade which recognises the way it treats its staff.
Ballakermeen has become the first school in the Island to win the Investors in People gold award.
The school, which has 1,500 pupils and more than 200 staff, was scored on a wide range of criteria
The assessor praised school leaders for their 'can do' attitude. His report described staff at Ballakermeen as highly motivated, proud to work at the school and totally committed to offering the students first class education.
Headteacher Adrienne Burnett says she is 'immensely proud', as fewer than one per cent of organisations in Britian achieve the gold Investors in People award.
