One of the UK's leading speakers on mental health issues will address a conference in the Island today (Tues 15).
Brigid Morris from UK charity MIND will talk about the discrimination suffered by, according to latest figures, the vast majority of people suffering a mental illness.
The event at Keyll Darree at Noble's Hospital has been organised by local charity Service Users Network (SUN).
Local speakers will look at the stigma attached to mental illness in areas ranging from drug and alcohol abuse to dementia and eating disorders.
Network chairman Elaine Haynes says the event will pool experience across the board:
This morning's session starts at 9am and is repeated this afternoon.
