Celebrations to mark the launch of the Island of Culture 2014 continue today (Sunday) with a torchlight procession on Peel beach.
Peel Town Commissioners and Vikings of Mann will then light a beacon on Peel beach at 5pm.
This will celebrate the start of the year and the old Manx Christmas Eve.
The beacon will mark the start of the year of culture and there will also be a short fireworks display.
There will be spare torches for adults - and children are welcome to bring along their own battery powered torches.
The procession will assemble at 4.45pm at The Mill Yard (behind Moore’s Kipper Yard), and head along East Quay to Peel Beach - not up Peel Hill as mentioned in some media reports.
It will go ahead whatever the weather, so if you're going, wrap up warmly.
