DoI responds to Legion Club fears
The Department of Infrastructure has responded to criticism over plans to pedestrianise a part of central Douglas.
It comes after the owners and clientele of the Manx Legion Club, off North Quay, hit out at a proposed regeneration scheme on Market Hill.
They claim the new layout, which would restrict traffic and parking on the street, would impede elderly and disabled customers trying to get to the premises.
Nearby residents and business owners are still being consulted with.
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer says the scheme would rejuvenate a 'tired and worn' area, and fit in with works elsewhere in town:
