Calls for clarity as 'frontline workers left in limbo'
Following Treasury's decision to drop plans for a proposed NHS Levy, the Isle of Man Trade Union Council says it wants a 'clear explanation'.
The body says it wants to know if this was because government has 'accepted the levy was unfair', or whether ministers 'fear the backlash' a year ahead of the General Election.
Whilst plans for a levy have been withdrawn, the TUC says there are still huge pressures facing our NHS.
It says: 'Staff are overstretched, services are under strain, and patients are waiting longer than ever'.
Its accused government of leaving frontline workers and the public 'in limbo' due to the lack of what it calls 'any credible alternative funding plan'.
Manx Radio has contacted The Treasury for comment.
