Errant car causes 'traffic chaos'
Traffic jams in Port St Mary have prompted the local authority to remind residents to park their cars 'well away' from the roadworks on Bay View Road.
Residents have reported congestion through the village due to vehicles left next to police cones, and close to temporary traffic lights where parking is currently suspended.
A car left on the road today has delayed the carriageway repairs being undertaken by the Department of Infrastructure.
Police have since removed the vehicle and issued a parking fine to the owner, who could not be located.
Chair of the commissioners Michelle Haywood took a picture of the offending car and posted it on social media, describing the scene as 'how to cause traffic chaos'.
It has prompted the local authority to ask motorists to 'park prettily' in the village, and away from the ongoing works.
The repairs began last week (20 July) and are expected to be completed this Saturday (27 July).
