With half term fast approaching there's good news for kids as Silverdale's famous water-powered roundabout re-opened yesterday.
It's been extensively refurbished, with the horses and boats re-cast in fibreglass, but staying faithful to the original designs (pictured).
The carousel dates from 1911 and is the only working example of its kind in the British Isles.
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, which has run Silverdale since 1960, has spent around £100,000 on the new features, including a CCTV system and improvements to the floor surrounding it.
