The first southbound steam train service of the day was involved in a minor accident this morning.
Shortly before 11am, a builder’s van crossed onto the line at Port Soderick station in the path of the oncoming 10.20am train to Port Erin.
The train hit it and pushed the vehicle up onto the station platform – but the van driver escaped without injury.
Emergency services were called and attended the accident.
The train was towed back to Douglas for repairs, and a replacement train set out a short time later.
