Completion date thrown off-track, says DoI Minister
It's 'absolutely impossible' to put a put a completion date on the Douglas prom scheme, but work will continue into next year.
That's the word of the infrastructure minister who's been quizzed on the subject in the House of Keys this morning.
Tim Crookall says the overall work is '95% complete' however the rail regulator has raised a concern with the tramway points at the bottom of Broadway, meaning they now need to be modified at a factory in the UK.
Work on a seventy-metre section of tramway between Broadway and Esplanade Mews cannot continue until they're returned.
Mr Crookall previously said he wouldn't give a completion date on the promenade refurbishment scheme, and said he still wouldn't until the finished road was being swept and cleaned:
