As world leaders tackle the problem of climate change in Copenhagen, a film being screened in Ramsey this evening (Wednesday) may inspire Isle of Man residents to do something positive at a local level.
'Transition - The Movie' tells the stories of communities which have 'done their own thing' to improve life for local people, while reducing their carbon footprint at the same time.
It shows 'transition' communities creating their own currencies, setting up their own pubs and growing their own food.
This evening's screening has been organised by Transition North, a group of environmental activists working on similar projects.
The group's Alice Quayle says the film covers a lot of ground in less than an hour (play audio file):
The film is being shown at 7.30pm at Ramsey Town Hall.
