Passenger watchdog to put pressure on airlines
The passenger watchdog TravelWatch says it will continue to lobby airlines to stop the practice of overbooking.
The issue has come to light again this week after a local woman was unable to board a plane at Ronaldsway - despite having a valid ticket.
The carrier, British Airways, had sold more tickets than it had seats.
Terry Liddiard, the TravelWatch spokesman on air matters, says they're particularly keen to see the practice stopped on small "lifeline" routes, such as those which serve the Isle of Man.
But he admits it's an uphill battle.
