Minister says meetings will inform 2019 budget
Treasury Minister Alf Cannon has dismissed the idea a new initiative seeking to garner opinion for 2019's budget, is just lip service for the public.
A number of drop-in sessions are due to be held by the department this month, in order to gauge people's thoughts on the economic priorities, ahead of the new year.
Previously, treasury has only consulted with the public once the budget has been finalised.
Along with the minisiter, the meetings will include MLC Bill Henderson and MHKs Bill Shimmins and Ralph Peake.
To have your say, members will be in attendance on the following dates:
Thursday 18 at Ramsey Town Hall
Monday 22 at Castletown Town Hall
Wednesday 24 at the Manx Legion Club in Douglas
Thursday 25 at Peel Town Hall
