Allinson to make financial statement in December
The treasury minister has confirmed his department is continuing to look into what financial support can be given out this winter.
Payments have already been made to certain people on income support benefits or employed person's allowance, and also to those who receive child benefits.
Energy prices have also been capped until March next year, and bus fares capped at £2.
Dr Alex Allinson says more may still be done, though admitted his department has been taking its time:
