Relevant qualifications required to make the list
Tree felling and maintenance contractors need accreditation before being recommended by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
Minister Geoffrey Boot says he'll publish a list of companies whose employees hold the International Society of Arboriculture's Certified Arborist qualification.
Employees need to pass an exam to test their knowledge on subjects like tree risk management, tree biology, pruning, diagnosis and treatment.
To be eligible, companies need to submit proof that employees work for them.
Once companies begin to sign up, the department will publish the list online.
