42-year-old denies affray
A Douglas man will stand trial after being accused of fighting in the street on New Year’s Eve.
Simon David Lomax, of Demesne Road, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where he entered a not guilty plea to the offence of affray.
The 42-year-old allegedly started the fight on 31 December on Woodbourne Road.
A pre-trial review will take place on 31 October; bail was granted until that date.
Update: A one-day trial is scheduled to start on 4 February 2025.
Update: On 4 February Lomax pleaded guilty to a public order offence. He was sentenced, at Douglas Courthouse on 20 March 2025, to three months custody which has been suspended for two years.
