Tribunal rejects sexual discrimination claim

Panel rules unanimously in company's favour

A woman who claimed she was sexually discriminated against before being sacked by a Ballasalla pharmaceutical company has had her case dismissed by the Employment and Equality Tribunal.

Danielle Weston-Ford, a receptionist at Kingsley Muti from February 2025, was dismissed on 16 January 2026.

She alleged sex discrimination, citing a male colleague she said had breached patient data rules and driven recklessly without warning.

She also said she was unfairly dismissed after setting boundaries about out-of-hours contact from the chief executive officer.

However, the unanimous decision was that there was no sex discrimination.

The Tribunal concluded that gender discrimination ‘played no part in the respondent's thinking’ and that the ‘misconduct on which the respondent relied for summary dismissal was unrelated to gender discrimination’.

As no discrimination was proven the tribunal had no jurisdiction to hear the unfair dismissal claim as Miss Weston-Ford had not completed one year of continuous service.
