Dick Hawes TT career spanned 42 years
Tribute has been paid to a TT stalwart who has passed away.
Dick Hawes, who was originally from Port Erin, had been suffering from a long-term illness for around the last 18 months.
His TT career began in 1966 and spanned 42 years, with him competing in the solos as well as driving and passengering sidecars.
He only missed five sidecar races during that time.
Hawes was also a regular at the Pre-TT Classic for many years.
On Twitter, the Southern 100 Club has described him as a "top man," while the Isle of Man TT Supporters Club feed on there said he would be "sadly missed" by the sidecar fraternity.
