Leader of Manx language revival died on Friday
Tributes are being paid to a leading figure in the revival of the Manx language.
Dr Brian Stowell died at the age of 82 yesterday.
Culture Vannin said the Island owes him a great debt of gratitude, while Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson praised him for bringing depth and meaning to the Manx language.
The Celtic League Mannin Branch hailed his linguistic work, and also paid tribute to his Celtic Congress contributions and interest in environmental issues.
Dr Stowell's work also saw him co-present Manx Radio's Moghrey Jedoonee programme for almost 20 years, having stood down from the role just over a year ago.
