Behind-scenes engineer steps into limelight
A local media veteran has been officially recognised by Tynwald ahead of his impending retirement.
Bob Allison is one of Manx Radio's senior broadcast engineers - he also oversaw a major refurbishment of government buildings a decade ago, masterminding the installation of voice recognition and electronic voting systems in the court.
He's due to step down next week.
Earlier this week President Steve Rodan presented him with an illuminated address, at the same time paying tribute to a 'behind-the-scenes figure' who throughout his career had 'made Tynwald tick over'.
Bob, who has worked with the national broadcaster since 1999, said he was 'surprised and honoured' by the accolade.
Manx Radio would also like to thank Bob for his many years of service, and wishes him a happy and healthy retirement.
