Artist dies following bike accident
Tributes have been paid to a respected member of the Island's arts and music scene, Simon Buttimore, who died in a road accident.
Mr Buttimore, who was 56 and from Sulby, was seriously hurt when he came off his motorbike while riding on the Laxey coast road on Friday night.
He died yesterday in Noble's hospital.
An artist and musician, Mr Buttimore's death has come as a shock to the Manx artistic community.
Chairman of the Sayle Gallery Damian Ciappelli says Simon was a 'tremendous supporter' of the venue and had organised an event there on the night of the accident:
