Footprint from races and international travel to be 'counterbalanced'
Government says the Isle of Man TT Races this year will be 'completely carbon neutral for the first time'.
An announcement from the Department for Enterprise this morning says steps are being taken to reduce the event's carbon footprint.
A partnership with Isle of Man based Pozitive Group - who have committed to funding a carbon offsetting programme - will see that efforts are made to 'counterbalance' the total emissions created by the festival including international visitor travel.
The full carbon impact of the races is estimated to be around 5000 tonnes of carbon, which is based on data from 2019.
However, the total emissions as a result of the 2022 festival will be calculated after the event.
