Television and radio presenter Andy Kershaw (pictured) has been remanded in custody, after appearing in court charged with breaching a restraining order.
The order, made by magistrates on August 1, prevented him from making any contact with his partner.
It is alleged he breached the order last night.
Mr Kershaw's advocate applied for bail, but it was opposed by police.
He appeared before the Deputy High Bailiff, Alistair Montgomerie, at Douglas Courthouse, and will do so again on Tuesday.
