Announcement at Celtic Media Festival
The Isle of Man could get its own television station.
A proposal has been unveiled this afternoon (Thursday) at the Celtic Media Festival at the Villa Marina.
That’s Media Group’s announcement was made during a panel session about the Island’s digital media broadcast industry.
Kent Walwin, owner and director of That’s Media Group, and chief executive Daniel Cass have visited the Island over the last few months to meet potential ‘stakeholders’.
The Isle of Media introduced the company to the Island last year and That’s Media Group has since created a plan to not only set up a Manx channel, but to also relocate its headquarters.
CEO Daniel Cass said: ‘We believe there is a calculable enthusiasm for our proposal for a new television channel playing a critical role in the island's national conversation. As the company controlling the most licences in the UK's local television network (12 licences) we believe that we are uniquely placed to support, encourage and ultimately develop this initiative.’
