Island may consider cap after UK makes decision
Twenty government employees have received golden goodbyes of £100,000 or more in the last five years.
The figure was confirmed in the House of Keys this morning by Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas, in response to a question from Jason Moorhouse MHK.
Mr Moorhouse wanted to know if government was considering putting a £100,000 cap on the payments.
Mr Thomas told the House that the UK had announced plans in 2015 to cap such payments at £95,000, but the UK Treasury was still consulting on the matter and the move was yet to be implemented.
