No defence witnesses to be called
The trial of a man accused of starting the fire at the Mount Murray Hotel has taken a surprising twist.
At Douglas courthouse this morning, the advocate for 64-year-old Roy Cross of Santon told the court his client had decided he didn't want to give evidence or call any witnesses.
Mr Cross denies breaching health and safety regulations.
The trial is now set to resume at 10am tomorrow, when the prosecution and defence will sum up.
