Two riders, marshal and spectator involved in incident on Billown Circuit
Two people have died following a ‘serious incident’ at the Southern 100 this evening (11 July).
It happened at around 6.50pm on the Castletown Bypass section of the Billown Circuit.
Police have confirmed two riders, a marshal and a spectator were involved but haven’t said which of those have died.
The Isle of Man Constabulary, and the Southern 100 Road Racing Club, says it wishes to pass on its ‘deepest sympathy’ to their families, loved ones and friends.
It adds that it is unable to provide any further details of those caught up in the incident at this time and says its current focus is to support those involved.
The Coroner of Inquests has been informed.
The road between Castletown Corner and Ballakaighen remains closed.
Members of the public have been asked not to speculate about the incident.
